My Walking Buddies...Mark and Lucy

Beaver Alert

Every evening (well, almost every evening) Mark and I, along with Lucy, go walking on the golf course. There are several small lakes on the course where we enjoy watching the ducks, egrets, fish, etc. Well, would you believe, we even have a beaver we have started trailing from time to time. Here are some pics to show you our views as we walk along our path.

It's a Beautiful Morning

The other morning when I woke up and looked outside, I grabbed my camera to capture the beauty and colors I saw in my backyard. For some reason, everything just looked so bright and cheerful! It may sound silly to express it that way, but it sure got my morning off to a great start!

Thank you, Mary!

I am a frustated artist!! There, I've said it! Since I was young, I have always loved to color, paint, do crafts, create mosaics with broken china, etc., but something happened over the past few years that caused my creativity to slowly dwindle. Just call it LIFE! Finally, I am beginning to feel those creative juices starting to flow again, and a lot of that is due to my friend Mary. All through my "creative slump," Mary has continually encouraged me to never give up and assured me that "this too shall pass" and the juces would flow again. After my daughter's wedding, she said it was time for this woman to sit down, put up her feet and relax with some good books! Well, the picture tells the rest...She surprised me with" Where Women Create", "Organizing Your Craft Space", "Flea Market Style", and "A Shop of One's Own". Just what the creative part of my soul needed! Thank you Mary for these treasures of inspiration and ideas, but most of all, thanks for being my friend! Love You!

Lavender-licious

Recently I went to a shower and the hostess served Lavender Lemonade! Oh my gosh, I embarrassed myself for repeatedly going back to fill my cup! It was wonderful! I found out the recipe, courtesy of my friend Liz, who found it online in an issue of "O" magazine. Chef Humphrey Morbeck created it! Soooooooooooooooooooooooo, here it is!!

Lavender Lemonade

Ingredients:

3 cups of sugar

7 lavender sprigs (stems and buds) plus additional to garnish

2 cups fresh lemon juice

1/2 cups lime juice

In a large saucepan, bring one gallon of water and the sugar to a boil. Remove from heat; add 7 lavender sprigs and lemon and lime juices. Cool to room temperature, strain, and chill. Serve on ice, with additional lavender for garnish. Makes about 16 servings! Enjoy!

For fresh lavender that you can cut yourself or purchase already cut, drop by The Homeplace restaurant in Tuscola. They have a wonderful lavender field, but hurry, 'cause in a couple of weeks, it will no longer be blooming!!

Pictures

Caroline Casey took the fun pictures that you see below. She is an up and coming photograher "extraordinaire". She and Emily have been friends since birth and is like a daughter to me! Isn't she beautiful???? Our main photographer, Lindsey Cotton, did an out standing job and we can't wait to see all of her pics. Go to http://www.lindseycotton.com/ and click on "blog" for some of the ones that she just posted. After the wedding pics she took, scroll down a little further and there are a few of the bridal portraits, too.

Here Comes the Bride

Speechless

I was afraid if I did not post something pretty soon, all of my blogging buddies would cease visiting my site, so here goes. Basically, I have just been speechless! The week leading up to Emily's wedding was absolutely wonderful and so much fun!! My sweet friends gave her a beautiful bridesmaids' luncheon and her new in-laws threw a fun filled rehearsal dinner party at Perini's. It just doesn't get any better than that!! Seeing her walk down the aisle at St. Paul's will forever be imprinted in my mind, as well as the precious "little girls" who stood with her as she and Josh exchanged vows. Then the reception...Mark and I walked in and were completely overwhelmed with the outpouring of friends and family who gave their time to spend an evening in honor of these newlyweds. We were humbled and reminded (once again) of the love and support of the body of Christ. Words will never be able to convey our heartfelt feelings and emotions as we spent time with you that evening. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
