"You Never Let Go" by Matt Redman

Last Sunday at church, we sang the song that is playing while you are reading this. Some of you may not like contemporary Christian music, but please take a minute and listen to the words of this song. They really touch my heart. Right after church, Mark and I drove to Kilgore (in East Texas) for the funeral of my cousin, Donald Beall. Donald was 3 years younger than me and died of a massive heart attack on Wednesday of last week. Donald and I grew up together in Kilgore and he was just a big teddy bear of a guy. He never knew a stranger and would do anything for anyone. He left behind his wife of 31 years, a son and daughter, and two grandchildren. Before and after the funeral, the words of this song rang in my mind over and over. They gave me peace for myself and for Donald's sweet family. So, I dedicate this song to his family...that they will know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that God is with them, holding them close, feeling their heartache and promising them He will never let go..........

I, too, hope that they will know He will never let go. Especially in the coming days...it seems to get harder before it gets easier.
